Recording you Voiceover in Kaltura
- Go to OSU MediaSpace and log-in on the upper right-hand corner. Navigate to "My Media" and click "add new" and then "Kaltura capture" in the toolbar at the top. This is where you will access the Kaltura Software that will be used to record your voice-over presentation.
- This will prompt you to authorize and download the Kaltura app that will be required for you to record your voice over.
- Open Kaltura and give the necessary permissions to allow for screen recording.
- Open your PowerPoint presentation and press the record button when you’re ready to deliver your presentation.
- Press the square stop button on the Kaltura window when you’re finished recording. Use your first and last name (e.g. “Stephanie Ramos”) as the name of the video.
- Upload your recording when prompted. Be sure the progress bar reaches 100%.
- IMPORTANT - It is important to caption your video!
- To caption your video click on your name at the top right hand corner and open "My Media."
- Open your uploaded video and press the "Action" button on the bottom right.
- Then click on "Caption & Enrich," and the submit button on the bottom right of the pop up. While your caption is loading your status will say "pending."
- Once it says "Ready" press the "Action" button again and click on "Edit."
- In the menu below the video click on "Captions."
- Finally press the "Show on Player" button to the farthest right to see your caption on your video.
Posting Your Presentation on Canvas
- Go to the Canvas page and click on the "Media Gallery" in the left hand menu.
- Then press the " + Add Media" button to upload your video to Canvas.
- When you want to add your video to the discussion board, click on the embed my media icon in the discussion menu (It will look like the play button).
